Adopt-a-School Program - Sister School ProgramWe are setting up a plan which we feel can help a school or organization to adopt one of the Katrina devastated institutions. With this program, the adopting group would receive kits of medallions, stickers, and red white and blue ribbons. The medallions would be assembled and then sold by the students for a donation to help purchase unity jackets and medallions for the school(s) they are adopting. | ||||

Expected CostOur hope is that those schools who want to set up a sister-school relationship with one of the Katrina impacted schools can use medallion kits to raise those funds. Selling one Medallion at $20.00 would fund the cost of the Donor Medallion shown to the left, and allow the purchase of a Jacket and a Medallion for a Katrina affected Gulf Coast Student . So if they were adopting a school of 400 students, they would need sell only 400 medallions to generate the sales needed. |
Medallions to DollarsConsidering the goodness of the cause, asking a 20 dollar donation is pretty reasonable, and a way to take a small investment in medallions and allow it to multiply many times over. It is a means by which a group of small individual contributors can pool their money into the larger sum that can make a difference. Estimates at this point, but 1 medallion sale would cover the cost of Donor medallion, Medallion for Gulf Coast Student, and a Fleece lined jacket in school color, including embroidery as noted under the jackets tab.
